Another two completed

With so much travelling I am surprised at how much I've gotten accomplished this summer.  Even though there has been 3 or four quilts completed (not sure at this point but the American Patchwork List sure is going down....

So lets get to it.....  I've caught up in my Quilt Doodle squares.  Here's the last three to catch up...
It's looking so bright and festive.  Perfect for the start of winter.  It doesn't have to be just for Christmas.  Snow is from November to March in some provinces.  Here's the next:
Anna's table cloth.  All completed.  And it's very large, 77" by 55".  There is no batting it does have a backing.  See below.  To get it together I sewed around the different edges, and new colors.  Twice on the purple around the panel.  It's in the style of the modernistic, whereas it all dots to make the picture.  But what's very cool is how I finished the edges.  I put the two wrong sides together and then turned both edges under 5/8 of an inch, and double sewed the edge, very close to the edge of the cloth, as well as a bit more in to make sure it doesn't unravel.  On a large cloth it should be great.  But I'm giving it away today, so I may never have time to take another picture.

One more completed, and on to the next  :)

Catch up Saturday

As school starts to come to a close, with so much to do, my craving to sew gets stronger and stronger, a craving that has to be satisfied.  Because I've been so busy, I have gotten behind on some of my BOMs.  Friday was all about going through applications for students who have applied for scholarships, That took from 3:00 till 6:15.  But it's done.  Not including the the three hours of review before the meeting.  That left me exhausted on Friday night, and no time for sewing.

This Saturday was my catch up day.  I went out with a friend, had a great day around Fort Langley.  It's north of Langley, right by the Fraser River (which by the way is now receding, thank goodness.).

There was a fort at one time (there is still a walk to the area) but they moved it in the town, and you can pay to enter it, it's huge.  It shows realistically what living in the fort was like.  It's well worth the trip for that alone.  But there is so much more to do, including tons of antiques at a warehouse right in town.  Check it out.  I was there from 11:30 - 3:30, and so busy, you need two days to see it all.

Here are some shots that show you the CN station you can walk through as well as the main town.

They do a lot of filming in this area for small town shots.

Back to my catch up day.

When I got home, my husband had done almost all of our cooking.  I just had one more thing to do.  Then he made me a hamburger.  It was wonderful.  We sat, had a few drinks, and then my husband went to listen to music, which I stated to sew.  Here are the results of that sewing.

Sewology BOM.  Two more completed, but I am still one behind.  Can you tell what they are?
Needle and cutter.  There are some mistakes with the cutter, but so many pieces, it was scary.
Ruler.
The Quilt Doogle BOM.   All caught up.

The very last one, snowman and his dog.  I got buttons for the carrot noses.

And then to really go forward, I made the next three pieced blocks so all I need is to do the applique.  As usual, Quilt Doodles's Snow Much Fun Block of the Month is so much fun, join us.  You can get the patterns on Cratsy, or Etsy (yes you have to pay, but it's minimal).

The final quilt will look like the picture below.  It's a scrappy look, which you can make scrappy.  All pieces are cut out ahead of time and each month you do the applique.  It's not hard, it's rather fun, and I use my button stitch on the machine to attach the applique.  Three more to go, and then the borders.  I'm very excited to see the final, and to add all my buttons to all the appliques, making it unique.

Well, that was it, that seems like enough.  I have more to do (one more Sewology) and I need to catch up on my other 2nd Quarter listings.  Have a great sewing week.

Still at it...

I have been doing a lot of stuff this spring break but I still have time for sewing.  As promised I'm trying to clean up my sewing room and I made a list of things I wanted to do for Spring Break and for OMG - One more Gone.  Here's the list I said I would do:
    RedLetterQuilts
  1. I'm two behind on the Quilt Doodle Quilt - but that's about 7 blocks.
  2. I need to make my mini "Sew" block
  3. Want to start the tree design I've been talking about - Winter trees in Manitoba
  4. I still have to make another quilt from "Precut Primers" by Me and My Sister.
  5. Have to catch up on Pat Sloan's quilt along.  There are 5 blocks to do.
  6. Have to do at least one month (I'm really one month and a half behind) of the 365 days quilt along.  3" squares - wow!!!
And now I'm stopping.
But for "One Monthly Goal" (I think of it more as "One More Gone") I'm talking about completing the Birds on a wire (completed it)  and the Zen pattern.  The rest would be bonus and a long Spring Break time that I need to get my head back on.  That means sewing.

Here's some completed work:

A cover for my machine.  I quilted it using the new quilting rulers.  Loved the ease of them.  This is a pattern from the mini patterns from Cluck Cluck Sew.  #2 on my list.

Catching up on Quilt Doodle BOM - #1 done on my list.

These are with the others.  I'm all caught up.

Then there is something I started to cut before Valentine's Day.  I'm sorry, I forgot who's pattern it is and it's not on my list but I've done it.

I made a mistake on that last heart but I love the quilting I did with my walking foot.

Then the baby quilt that I still need to finish by quilting it.  It's from Quiltmaker Magazine March/April #168.  This is extra but still good.:

And finally I'm on the last row for the Garden Tea Party by the Quilt Company.  The tea pots are ready and so are the cups, it's the flowers to go.

The tea pots came together perfectly.  I'm happy with the results.  And the teacups (another day for those pictures) were great.

Busy week so far.  And more to come.

Needed to catch up....

I don't know why I'm on a schedule,  I'm semi retired, but I've been busy with cleaning the house and just got back last we...
