Sorry for the lateness of this post, but I've been attacked by chocolate....  Yeah you heard me but it's not what you think.  I've had two full blown allergy attacks which mean that I headed to the hospital or could not function.  I've been off for about a week and a half.  But I'm feeling better.  Still really tired (not a good thing to say with what's happening medically) and need to take a nap most days, but feeling better.  Am I getting old?  Yeah, I'll admit that.......

Well, here I am, after a number of days and a couple of things to show. Didn't do much, but here it is.  These are quilts that I made for pre-mature babies, something that my quilting guild sponsors.  I promised myself that I would make at least 10 of them this years.  So far this would make 2, 3, and 4.  All with left over material, or material from a stash, or material that was given to me by a friend from her aunt that just passed away.  Here they are

Trying to get more done, and I have a list of things to do so here's the list:

1. Anna's magazine/mystery book block #2
2. Anna's magazine/mystery book block #3
3. Get applique ready for Manitoba - owl and next block section.
4. Finish Painting table runner.  All sewn, needs to be ironed and quilted.  For the art teacher in my school.
5. lemonade quilt that is my UFO quilt (Not #7 but an easier one to complete before the ened of the month).

That's enough for two days.  Wish me luck.

OMG finished already

OMG!!!  I'm finished my premie quilt already.  I've already given it to my quilting guild today (Fraser Valley Quilting Guild), and here's what it turned out to be:

Ladder quilt with 2 1/2 inch strips.

Stitch in a ditch.

Love the fabric, beautiful old fashion scraps, with gold around the edge.  In the end it was 36 x 36.  Perfect for a new born.

But that wasn't all that I completed this month.  I finished two more rows of the row by row.  Take a look.  In the end they'll be two queen size quilts.  Notice that I'm trying to do quilt as you go.

The fish fins were so tiny  to do but in the end well worth it.

This was with me not sewing this weekend because I was away to Victoria Island.  Can you say "crab chowder anyone?"  :) 

 

This was the view from our hotel room at the Coastal Hotel and Marina.  It was off the beaten bath a bit (15 minute walk downtown on that great path or $10 taxi ride) but so worth it with the view.  I would highly recommend it to anyone.

On a special note - another quilting store that was great in Victoria is now closed.  I was sorry to see Satin Moon Quilting Store permanently close.  So sorry considering how beautiful their designs were.

So that's it, ready to hook up to OMG for the month of November with Elm Street Quilts.

Finishing a few things

Well it wasn't a great month of finishing but I did get a few quilts done, and I should be happy. Also I started two new questions, but still need to push myself to get some of the quilting done.  Lets get into it right away:

I quilted it all around the panel, and more. You can now see the bark on the tree.

I love this one!!!!  Colour play from Alison Glass.  From March's Quilty box.  

It was so fun to play with the colours.  You got a Cake of fabric, you cut them into 5" squares

and you played with the placement.  See the results below.

It's outstanding.  And I did black all around for binding to really pop the colours.

The quilting was simple, corner to corner, all over it.  It says something.  

This took 3 days, and was worth the sewing on the binding to get this effect.  

I think I'll keep this one   :)
