OMG for July

So now I'm three for three in the last three months of completing some of my UFOs.  I feel proud and I feel I'm getting somewhere with getting the load down.  So what's next?  Well, I am doing a lot of traveling this month (Giving my aunt that lovely quilt that I just finished last month) so I'm hoping to keep it quick, but stuff happens.  So here's the thought:  if I do an improv quilt it will be quicker because there is no pattern to follow and I did promise my cousin from Toronto/Florida a quilt.  The only way to give it to her is to have it ready at her mom's place when I visit my mother.  So Here's what it looks like right now.
Excuse the mess (and boy is it a mess in my sewing room right now!!!!!!)
I took all the colors from the flower print, most of them moda solids.  I can't remember what the flower material is called, maybe someone can help me with that?  As for the other green (there are two of them) the other is from the Grunge series. I am also going to do quilt as you go style, and make the blocks 15 inches each.

So that's the goal for July.  Linking up with OMG (one montly goal) at Elm Street Quilts.

OMG for June completed!!

OMG I got another UFO completed!!!  And just in time as this one is going to my aunt in California in about 3 weeks.  It's done, it's done, it's done!!!!  All quilted, binding completed and voila!!  The picture of what I started with....  It was put together, the letters were all added and stitched down.  But I needed to complete the entire thing.

So now the big reveal....

That's it, it looks spectacular!!!  Looks great on my bed.  It's think enough so she won't be too hot in California, but warm enough for my uncle.  It's black, white, and gray (she wanted black and white but the gray really pops it).  And then there is that lime green. Really says something.  I'm hoping to find some more of it so I can make pillow cases in the same color.  So linking up to "One Monthly Goal" at Elm Street Quilts.  Wish me luck.

Quilt Con in Vancouver

A quick view at Quilt Con in Vancouver BC.  It doesn't do the show justice, but it was just too amazing to not share some of it. Please excuse the fact that I don't have names in the pictures but to all those fantastic artists who had work in the show, I bow to your absolute genius talent.  You inspire me to try harder in both my quilting and my painting.  And for that I thank you.

Another Goal Coming up

I'm keeping up with this challenge, it really motivates me.  I put down what I need to do, complete it before the end of the month, post about it, then miss updating the group. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

But in reality is that the point?  No, it's to go through my UFOs and to get my sewing room down to a manageable size, and to challenge myself to keep on quilting with such a busy schedule.  So I am doing well with that.  So I keep doing what's working....  Here's my next goal.....

This ones been on the list forever, and it's one that needs to be completed before the end of June because I"m bring it to California to give it to an Aunt of mine.  The quilt is completed, it's a King size quilt. It's all together, and this picture is a little old.  I have more than 1/2 of the quilt done with little tiny squares, but I still have about 20 square blocks to quilt.  So that's what I'm working on, quilting them.  I have set a goal of 5 squares a week, to quilt (when you do that you usually do more....) or about a bobbin each time (keep quilting until the bobbin runs out).  So it's doable, just tiring on the arms because I'm doing it on my domestic machine (a small one).   Going to have trouble with this as well because I'm a teacher, it's the end of the school year and in high school that means commencement, graduation, awards night, all things after school, and it takes time (not to mention computers coming in, finals with your budget, finals with your students.....  the list can go on and on but I won't).  So it will be good luck to me to get this done, but now I don't have a choice.  Hooking up to One Monthly goal at Elm Street Quilts

Update for American Patchwork and Quilting Challenge

New drawing this month, and it's number 11.  It's a Missourri Quilt Company quilt.  The one I am very interested in doing this one

This one needs 1 roll 11/2" white strips - includes inner border
1 roll 21/2" print strips
3 packages of 21/2" squares
- 84 count
OUTER BORDER is 1 3/4 yards
BINDING is 3/4 yard
BACKING is 71/2 yards - vertical seam
for a 80 x 80 quilt

or

This one needs 1¾ yards dark solid fabric
1¾ yards light solid fabric
BINDING:  ¾ yard
BACKING:  3¼ yards - horizontal seam(s)
This one is smaller.

This one will satisfy my #11.  But I am also trying to complete my #11 which is the table runner for a very good friend of mine, Anna.  So I'll try to do both this month as well as my UFO challenge.

So far I've done two on this list, one I give away and one that's hanging in my condo, so I'm pleased.  See below for all the ones I said I would complete in 2018.  Those in yellow are the quilts that should be completed.
