Update on UFOs at American Patchwork and Quilting Group

Doing well so far with two months down and 4 of my UFOs finished.  I am trying to do two at a time since my list is so darn long.

Every year I join the UFO 2020 Challenge from the American Patchwork and Quilting group.  Every year they ask for a list of 12 UFOs and then they randomly draw a number for you to start that quilt.  It's easy and I can still analyse each one but lets the APQ do the choosing.  So here's my list and what month is for March:

3  Flamingo Barn Door for our Dining room using the SewKindofWonderful ruler.
 Have all the fabric, and some of it cut.  Need to start sewing.

4  Zen Chic Sky.

February
 
Have the pattern, have the geese all made, need to quilt it.  Started in 2019 in September.

5  Quilt Doodle BOM 2019
 
Have 8 out of twelve blocks completed.  

6  Black & White Paper Piece, 2018
 No before picture, I'm just doing the quilt.  Have 4 blocks completed.

7  HST BOM by Freshly Pieced.   MARCH
 Have all material and now all the pattern.  But haven't started.  It's suppose to look like this

8 Dwight the Deer Quilt by Elizabeth Hartman

9  Hand applique 2 sisters of Buggy Barn quilts patterns.

February  - Get one block done.
Joined as a BOM, have all the material and it's all by hand so great for travel.  Haven't even started it.
In February I did the tree, the cat and the flowers, as well as the knot in the tree.  That's section 1 and section 2 I was working on.  
10  Modern quilt 
  Have all the material.  Need to cut.

11  Row by Rows to complete a queen size quilt.
  Have 18 rows completed.  Need to do 16 more.

12  There's so many more, this one I'm not going to list.  Just choose one.  Did this one for MARCH
Pink Lemonade - had it partly done, some of the pieces are cut wrong.  Two rows completed.  Had to find the pattern.  Did this for MARCH

 About 10 done, have all the material.  Quilt guild started it and I just need to finish it.

2.  Tea Cubs
JANUARY
 Had one done.  All material there and all patterns there.

3  Applique Flower with wool
 All material but that's it.  I have to hand stitch most of it.

4 Sewing dummy make of flowers
 Some flowers cut out and ready for pattern.  Its a decent size.


5  Red Modern quilt by Quilt doodle.  
Need to catch up.  Missing January, February

6  Paint brush quilt
 Have pattern and material.  Was going to make a quilt but now it's a table runner.

7  House quilt BOM   
OUCH!!!  March
One block completed out of 12.
Got Pat Sloan and the groups quilt done instead.  Had 46 blocks done, did 3 more and put them all together.  Had to piece them.
8 Missourri quilt strip quilt
Just need to choose any one.

9  Sewing dummy made of a truck
Have some flowers cut out.

10  Strip quilt with scraps
Need 48 of them.  Have 12 completed.

11  Squirrel made by SewFresh
 have material and pattern.  This is what the pattern looks like.

12  Horse or cow.  Horse is made of sqaures.

I'm also hoping to make one baby quilt a month for the hospital.

One I missed and another done

 I’ve been cleaning my sewing office and I have been noticing how any UFOs I have but that’s ok because I’m retiring soon and all of the projects will keep me busy.  The kits are all together except for batting and backing.  So it’s a win win.  But I’m getting an overflow, too much stuff around to the point  that it's overwhelming me.  Like everyone else in the quilting world I can’t resist a new BOM or a bargain so I keep on starting new ones but I’m resisting ladies (hello my name is Nicole and I’m a fabricaholic.).  This past month I’ve been finishing off a lot of quilts (see last couple of blogs) but today I’m showing you one I did this month and another BOM from this year so it doesn’t become a ufo.  Here she be…. Summer is almost over

 And I’ve been able to get some painting and sewing in.  I have completed some baby quilts, made some gifts and cleaned my room after my bookcase collapsed.  Yeah you heard right, my IKEA bookcase (with drawers) stretched out and the shelves came tumbling down.  Too many sewing/painting/quilting books and paints in it.  Out with that old and in with a used steamer trunk that I redid.  Final product are the 1st couple of pictures.  Even used wood glue for cracks. Redid with restick wall paper that is waterproof.   All my supplies The crack that I wood glued. The start that took about 2hours. The finish product that has projects in containers, and fabric for sewing clothes.  It worked well. Then I had some things that are just in a tray that I needed to fix.  So I completed these projects that were small and almost done. Been busy again

 With a few UFOs done.  They are Cat Approved. Both of these have gone to the hospital's children's ward. Yes they are identical.  The material was given to me two years ago, with the blocks already done. I just finished it off and binded it. This one is a Joanne's Kit from 5 years ago, before Covid.  The kit contained all the material and the pattern, but some of the material had been changed and that's why the discount.  The kit was $20.  For all the top material.  What a steal!!! Simple quilting in the ditch and some echoing. My husband loves the colors.  Perfect for a guy.  I was going to give this away but the hubby said no, it's perfect for our house, so it's staying. I also did one more quilt for a friend that I gave away last week so now I can put it up here.  It's part of the American Quilt UFO challenge.  I found some of the trees premade and in a box while trying to clean my quilting room.
