Saturday's busy day

As you saw, I did do a lot on my pixelated quilt.  OK, I know you've seen it, and I know the picture doesn't do it well, but you can see the closeup of a sunflower can't you?

In between doing this (it's 2.5 inch squares with a complicated map to follow - I'll put out the pattern if it looks good and people like it) I made table mats to match the table runner (upon the request of my husband)

Love the colors and the design.  I got three projects completed in one night.  Two are quilted and one to design a quilt pattern.  I'm very happy about this.  Love when you get things done.

2015 Finish Along - Going Simple

2015 FAL at On the Windy Side
So far in the 1/2 year that I've joined this group I have failed to complete what I've said I would complete.  I am still over doing it, with 5 BOM's and finishing last year's BOMs (most have their blocks done, it's to complete it and then free style quilt them).

With this in mind I am making a list of only two things to complete in the next three months.

This first one will take at least two months but I'm hoping to complete the online class by Leah Day "Free Motion Quilting a Quilt".  I completed the BOM I made by Amy Gibson "Craftsy Block of the Month 2012" and now I want to quilt it.  I loved the block of the month class and really learning in Leah's class as well.  But each video take about an hour and then there is the practice to do before doing the block on your quilt.  So last month  I only got one block down of the quilt, but I did free style stitch in the ditch the entire quilt, and I'm on my way to learning over 14 different styles of free motion quilting.

Goal two is a quilt that I did do well one, I've got two corners completed, but I need to put it all together.  So here are example of the corner block (please excuse the cat - who doesn't have a cat that hangs around when quilts??? ).  Notice the green in the corner which goes around the quilt and has flowers on it as well.  It's time consuming, and I need to put it away every once in a while because my hand hurts, but that's the job.

I'm trying simple this time and focus!!!  But that's hard for an ADHD adult who needs to focus on three or four things to be a normal person  ;).

In between I'll be doing all the BOM squares that I'm a part of or I'm behind in.  That should keep me busy.

A Lovely Year of Finishes - Going Simple.

A Lovely Year of Finishes I'm getting really strict with myself. I have one goal and here it is:

The online class by Leah Day "Free Motion Quilting a Quilt" finishes/quilts the quilt I have made by Amy Gibson "Craftsy Block of the Month 2012"  Loved the block of the month class and really learning in Leah's class as well.  But the videos take about an hour and then there is the practise to do before doing it on your quilt.  So last month  I only got one block down of the quilt, but I did free style stitch in the ditch the entire quilt, and I'm on my way to learning over 14 different styles of free motion quilting.

Here is one block that was done last month.

One section done.
Close up - learned paisley
And so I'm saying that I'll get this quilt done by the end of April (or at least half done!! - Just kidding).

That's it, and that simple.  I need to learn all these styles of free motion quilting in order to complete my sunflower pixelated quilt (see last posting) and to complete about 3 other quilts that are waiting for quilting.

Wish me luck.  The list is small and everything else will be a bonus, but the plan is to have 4 blocks a weeek completed so it gets done.

Here is a sample of what happens when I learn something new (I use it in other new things).

Completed using only scraps

Note the quilting

Just have the eye to embroider.  Like how I'm getting use to my machine and I'm beginning to thread stitch.  Lets hope my goal this month helps even more.  Ready to learn.

Try try again for April

OK, I didn't get any of my March goals completed, but I did get through a Round Robin that I got side tracked with.  But isn't the i...
