Second Quarterly 2018 Finish A Long

Image
I was so happy with last quarter's list and getting so much quilting done in the last two weeks that I only have to finish up a couple and they're done.  I had put four items on the list that I almost completed but having two completed, and two baby quilts completed made me satisfied.  (See here for the blog entry). So what next?  Once more there is a list to complete, and I'm hoping to to get at least five done this time.  One of them is urgent (a quilt for my Aunt who is going into the hospital April 12th.   So it needs to be completed right away.  Also I have two that were on the list last quarter that are almost done, so it will be easy to complete them right away.  OK, here's the list: (1)  The Midnight Garden.  It's all completed and I have to quilt it now.  All the wool is completed.  The two and a half inch squares are sewn all around the wool.  It's really very beautiful.  Here's what it looks like now: (2)  The pixelated eye - which i

The 2018 Finish-A-Long really does help me to organize and push myself to complete many of my UFOs (unfinished objects) and believe me there are many of them.  So I am trying to follow  She Can Quilt who is s  continuing to do a 2018 finish a long which is made up in quarters.  It's a low pressure community group that encourages you to make a list of projects that have already been started but need to be finished, and boy, do I qualify for that!   As I explained in a different blog post you link up at the  beginning of a quarter and then at the end of the quarter you link up a link for each item on your list that you finished. Each link is an entry into the random draw for great prizes sponsored by our generous sponsors. There is no penalty for not finishing something on your list but the rewards are great, from material to patterns to gift cards.  The encouragement is tremendous.  And I'm really in good shape this term because I really like the Finish-A-Long. This term

OK, been doing great with my goals for each month, even surpassing them.  So what's this month's goal?  To complete the barn quilted door for my spring look.  The first one is almost quilted, and I love it, but my goal  will be to make the second one.  So, cool, when it's done.  The first one has leaves quilted into each leaf (there are 20 leaves).  Then I do a spiral onto everything around it.  Here's what it's looking like right now: I have six leaves completed so far, I need 20.  And here is the one barn door completed.  Can't wait to finish the 2nd one.  Here's what it looks like: Look at the quilting.  Leaves, on the leaves and spirals all around. Remember, I need a second one.  That's the monthly goal. Linking up to Elm Street Quilts for April's. Good luck to everyone.

OMG completed for March.
