Completed goals of the month...

I'm back to doing my list and checking it twice.  And I got a lot more done because of it, or at least, I think so.  Not bad considering I've been sick this week, started up a new term with new students, and helped a lot of teachers start up their classes as well. So lets get with it and see what I've done...
  • Block lottery
    • arrows (February) - it's been three months since joining and I want to join again.  I really love doing them.
    • Eight blocks (January )
    • old block spiders
Did a lot!!  About 11 of them, but still got a lot to go.  So next month, I'm going to list the entire list and get them all done.  But I am scared of the sun paper piecing ones.  Those take a lot of time.

  • Pat Sloan Vacation time
  •  BOM
    • have the material but did not start both January and February.
  •  Wool quilt.
    • One corner - Done.  So excited, now 3 to goal but I have to step it up because it's being entered in a contest..
  • Pixulated quilt
Got some done, and it's growing See the post before this.  But not done, so I'm pulling up my boot straps on this one.
  • Aurifil mini quilt February
  •  - never even touched it.
  • Snap shot quilt along by the Fat Quarter Shop.
    • January Cake - no
    • February sewing machine. no......
  • Vice Versa
    • September block  Got the last two blocks cut out and need to sew so I think this will be one of my "A Year of Lovely Finishes" goal for March.  And March is spring break so I think I can make it!!!
    • October block  - got it cut out as well and I'm ready to sew this one as well.
  •  Finish quilting my wall hanging for a home purchase gift - the wind. - DONE see picture below.
Darn, I need to stop starting new things, and to finish the BOM's from last year.  Now I have to list all my goals for next month....

ALYOF partly done.

A Lovely Year of Finishes
Another month has gone by and another year of "A Lovely Year of Finishes 2015"   My goal for the last two monthes has been my pixelation quilt that is 2 1/2 inch squares.

Here's what the quilt looks looks like two months ago.....

and I did do some more rows, and it has grown, but still not finished?  I don't know why.  My only excuse is that I've been sick this past month, and I seem to be too tired to concentrate on it.  But I have been working on hand sewing stuff, and I did try to catch up on a couple of my old (last year's) blocks of a month quilts.  Seriously, I have been doing stuff, just not what I set out to do.  So lets take a look.  It's about two yards in width.  Below is another view and a comparison with the big cat again  ;)

Golds and yellow, and browns.
One corners on my wool quilt completed, although I set out to complete two a blister on my finger would make it really bad to work a needle through so many layers of wool.

That's a very large cat on a 17" square

Full size with green vine's to be put on the sides

Look at the stitching detail

But in the process I started another wool table topper.  When I'm sick I don't want to be by a machine, so I hand sewed.  But the top was so difficult, I just wanted to do an easy one.  Here it is below, almost done.

Small vines

The flower is 4 layers

Some things not on my list but I did:

Birthday gift for my sister - four table toppers, in greens and browns.  Echo quiltings around the circles.

Echo quilting
Two wall hangings, one my own design, and both free style quilting.  One is a house warming gift.

Love the quilting
BOM for Quilt Doodle Designs - Feb.
Catching up with the Block Lotto 2015 quilt
8 spokes, 5 crosses, and one partial sun.
When you put it like this, I'm pleased, but I do need to finish that wool quilt.  It's due in May!!  Deadlines.....  I need to stop starting new things.

Busy Weekend.

I got a number of projects that have been sitting there completed.  Place mats for my sister.  She's been asking for this.  Used the Improv manner to make the circles.  Quilted with echo quilting.  They look beautiful.

Did a couple of BOM blocks for February.  Quilt doodle block which was really fun:

and then there was the Animal zoo that I've been working on.  Completed the penguin.  The body has silver in it.

Then, the great thing is that I finished two wall hangings.  These quilts were amazingly quilted with my new Janome sewing machine.  Check it out.  First one is "Whooooooooo's there?"

leaf motif

Feathering.

Leaves.  White on white.
And then this one which is "Scraps of Fall."  This one was in thread that changed from white, to light blue to dark blue.  Make it look like the wind going through the leaves.  Check it out.

The quilt - notice leaf blocks.

See the birdies?

Quilting went through tree
and some leaves.

Was really amazed at this one.  Very happy that it worked out.  The owl one is a house warming gift.  But the "Scraps of Fall" is here  ;)

Showing it to the Guild tomorrow.

Things to do in February

OK, it's a long list so I'm getting right to it.  I seem to work better when I have a bullet list of things to do.  After two months of not making a list, and doing very little (it could of had something to do with the time of year, and how busy I've been but I'm going with list making because I'm a list maker --- can you tell?!!) I'm back to doing my list and checking it twice.  And there is a lost of things to do so I'm trying to put it in order as well since some things are more important then others to complete.
  1. Quiet time at the zoo - penguin block. (see side link). Paper piecing BOM
  2. Block lottery
    1. arrows (February) - it's been three months since joining and I want to join again.  I really love doing them.
    2. Eight blocks (January ) I need to catch up.
    3. old block spiders
  3. Quilt Doodle February block - tea set. BOM   - DONE
  4. Pat Sloan Vacation time BOM
    1. Get my material.
    2. January
    3. February block.
  5.  Wool quilt.
    1. One corner
    2. 2nd corner
  6. Pixulated quilt
  7. Aurifil mini quilt February
  8. Snap shot quilt along by the Fat Quarter Shop.
    1. January Cake
    2. February sewing machine.
  9. Vice Versa
    1. September block
    2. October block
    3. Put it all together.
  10.  Finish quilting my wall hanging for a home purchase gift - the wind. - DONE
  11. Finish the center piece of the Aurifil block pieceed quilt and finish it online.
  12. Scrap piece from Sew Sample quilter (need to make 9 of them for a wall quilt)
  13. Quilting my Craftsy 2013 quilt - that's a Craftsy quilt class online.
  14. Water blue piece that I have 1/2 completed.
Good luck to me, this is quite the list!!!  If I get 1/2 of it done, I'll be happy.

ALYOF for Febuary.

A Lovely Year of Finishes
Another month has gone by and another year of "A Lovely Year of Finishes 2015"   My goal last month was my pixelation quilt that is 2 1/2 inch squares.

Here's what the quilt looks looks like two months ago.....

And that's what I'm going to work very hard to complete.

But I do have a second piece to do.  I want to do two corners on my wool quilt.  Can't wait to see it done.  And you'll have to wait to see the corner patterns!!!

End of the Month of January

A Lovely Year of Finishes
Another month has gone by and another year of "A Lovely Year of Finishes and Finish Along 2015"   My goal was my pixelation quilt that is 2 1/2 inch squares.

Here's what the quilt looks looks like a month ago.....

and that is also what it looks like at the end of the month!!!  Didn't even touch it.  Mental note - the month of January is not a time to set such a big goal.

I did do the following in summary (some that are over 2 - 4 years old - so that was good to complete but not my goal - stay on track, stay on track, stay on track.....)

that's it.  Not my goal but this  coming month I'm concentrating and focusing.

Busy, busy, busy....

I've been retired now for over a year and a half, and I can honestly tell you I am semi retired.  I work about 2 days a week, randomly,...
