OMG for July

Image
So now I'm three for three in the last three months of completing some of my UFOs.  I feel proud and I feel I'm getting somewhere with getting the load down.  So what's next?  Well, I am doing a lot of traveling this month (Giving my aunt that lovely quilt that I just finished last month) so I'm hoping to keep it quick, but stuff happens.  So here's the thought:  if I do an improv quilt it will be quicker because there is no pattern to follow and I did promise my cousin from Toronto/Florida a quilt.  The only way to give it to her is to have it ready at her mom's place when I visit my mother.  So Here's what it looks like right now. Excuse the mess (and boy is it a mess in my sewing room right now!!!!!!) I took all the colors from the flower print, most of them moda solids.  I can't remember what the flower material is called, maybe someone can help me with that?  As for the other green (there are two of them) the other is from the Grunge serie

OMG for June completed!!

OMG I got another UFO completed!!!  And just in time as this one is going to my aunt in California in about 3 weeks.  It's done, it's done, it's done!!!!  All quilted, binding completed and voila!!  The picture of what I started with....  It was put together, the letters were all added and stitched down.  But I needed to complete the entire thing.    So now the big reveal....       That's it, it looks spectacular!!!  Looks great on my bed.  It's think enough so she won't be too hot in California, but warm enough for my uncle.  It's black, white, and gray (she wanted black and white but the gray really pops it).  And then there is that lime green. Really says something.  I'm hoping to find some more of it so I can make pillow cases in the same color.  So linking up to "One Monthly Goal" at Elm Street Quilts .  Wish me luck.

Quilt Con in Vancouver

A quick view at Quilt Con in Vancouver BC.  It doesn't do the show justice, but it was just too amazing to not share some of it. Please excuse the fact that I don't have names in the pictures but to all those fantastic artists who had work in the show, I bow to your absolute genius talent.  You inspire me to try harder in both my quilting and my painting.  And for that I thank you.

Another Goal Coming up

I'm keeping up with this challenge, it really motivates me.  I put down what I need to do, complete it before the end of the month, post about it, then miss updating the group. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! But in reality is that the point?  No, it's to go through my UFOs and to get my sewing room down to a manageable size, and to challenge myself to keep on quilting with such a busy schedule.  So I am doing well with that.  So I keep doing what's working....  Here's my next goal..... This ones been on the list forever, and it's one that needs to be completed before the end of June because I"m bring it to California to give it to an Aunt of mine.  The quilt is completed, it's a King size quilt. It's all together, and this picture is a little old.  I have more than 1/2 of the quilt done with little tiny squares, but I still have about 20 square blocks to quilt.  So that's what I'm working on, quilting them.  I have set a goal of 5 squares a week
